Description

Several years ago, DC produced a special lithograph highlighting the history of Robin. Complementing a reprinting of Dick Grayson swearing his oath of loyalty to justice and Batman were four images of Robin though the ages, model shots from through the decades as it were.

Though each different picture was done in a different art styles highlighting six of the very different looks which Robin has had through the years; Dick Grayson by Kane/Finger (1940's), Moldoff/Paris (1940's and 1950's) and Infantino (1960's) and Tim Drake by Jim Aparo and Tom Grummett (both 1990's) finishing off with Dick in his modern Nightwing costume in something closer to the artist's own style.

And who is the artist who managed to mimic all these disparate styles? Almost unbelievably, these were all pencilled by one man, the legend that is Jose-Luis Garcia-Lopez, who catches these wildly different looks splendidly.

This fantastic piece highlighting two of the six was another absurdly generous Christmas gift from a better friend than I deserve, so let me add a massive "!Thank you" to him for this
