Description

Back in 2009, Mirage Studios still owned the rights to TMNT. The comics coming out at the time were largely done in-house by Peter Laird, Jim Lawson, Michael Dooney, and Dan Berger. Kevin Eastman was the owner of Heavy Metal at the time and had sold his ownership of the TMNT to Laird years ago. This was a milestone year for the turtles as it marked 25 years since the original comic released. To celebrate, Kevin and Peter collaborated on a piece of art they way they used to; by passing the page back and forth to really blend their styles together. The ultimately made the image a print colored digitally by Steve Lavigne and sold it at shows. This is the original page that was passed back and forth between the two co-creators.

Little did anyone know Peter Laird would sell his rights to Viacom/Nickelodeon later that same year. Given that the two weren't working on any joint projects at the time, this is likely the last collaborative effort of the Eastman and Laird from the Mirage-era of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
