Description

I bought this directly from Jim Warden - this was the pitch piece that John drew when he presented his idea for X-Men: Hidden Years to Marvel. Done in pencil.

Years later, I had Joe Rubinstein do a blue-line inked version.

Hard to believe Byrne needed to do a pitch piece. Byrne returning to X-Men was a surefire project that in the late 90's brought back a lot of reader. It also aligned with Marvel's strategy to appeal to the nostalgic past.
