Description

One evening in the early 1980s, I received a telephone call from an animation deler/friend of mine, during which he told me that he had just gotten a fabulous watercolor from Broken Toys. He proceeded to tell me that the person he bought it from also had had another great drawing for the Good Housekkeeepng Robber Kitten page, but that another #$$&%@# was at the seller's house and that he grabbed the one from The Robber Kitten. Within an hour, I got a call from another collector/friend who called to tell me that he had just gotten a great drawing from the Robber Kitten. He knew that that was my favorite Disney cartoon. He then complained that he tried to buy a great watercolored publicity drawing from Broken Toys, another one of my very favorite shorts, but that some #$$&%@# grabbed it first. I bought the Broken Toys drawing the next day, but it took over a year to talk my other friend into selling the Robber Kitten drawing to me. Even now, almost 40 years later, both of the drawings that two #$$&%@#s called me about on the same evening are among my favorite drawings in my collection, and neither friend ever knew that I had ended up with both!
