Description

When I saw that jay leisten had these three pages from the recent issue which saw the restoration of Cypher to the Marvel universe I had to pounce!

As part of the Necrosha storyarc, Selene, former Black Queen of the Hellfire Club, and evil mutant immortal sort-of-goddess used a variation on the technorganic virus to reanimate lots and lots and lots of dead mutants, and her own magical powers to turn them into her slaves/soldiers/lackeys/whatever.

Doug retained some of his original personality, but was unable to articulate it properly, rendering everything into binary. He also tried to filter everything through his own facility with languages, constantly asking himself, and anyone else he got the chance to talk to "What language am I?"

Of course, none of the bad guys he was with gave him a straight answer.

But now, released from their control, and surrounded by his friends (even if Selene had used him to try and kill them all just a short while before) he finally realises that "The New Mutants are my language" and he has somewhere he can, or at least try to, fit into the living world again. Awww..... :)
