DescriptionThis painting first became available to me back in 1997 through an art gallery in New York City called Four Color Images, but I wasn't able to afford it at the time. I called up the gallery Several months later after saving up some money, but the painting was sold. It had gone to Lucasfilm.Supposedly while visiting Skywalker Ranch, Carrie Fisher saw this painting displayed on the wall and just fell in love with it. Knowing this, George Lucas gave the painting to Ms. Fisher as a present on her birthday. Lucas wrote a birthday greeting and signed the backside of the frame. Mark Hamill also signed and wrote a short greeting. The painting hung in Ms. Fisher’s home until she decided to auction it to raise money for her mother, Debbie Reynolds who was trying to establish a new Hollywood Motion Picture Museum in 2001. Ms. Fisher added her signature on the back of the painting for the special auction. I didn't want to miss this second chance, so I jumped on it. Social/Sharing |

i saw this in person, many many years ago, before Dave sent it to Lucasfilm. I was SO in love with it; glad it ended up in such a terrific collection!!!

This is an amazing painting and your description even adds to the interest. What an incredible back story. LOOK AFTER IT.

Beautiful piece, and amazing story. A piece that went in to the Lucas black hole, but managed to fly out again. Incredible.
