DescriptionFirst, I have to thank AB for keeping me on his list of speed dials for this page. He remembered that I loved Byrne's run on Marvel Team-Up and gave me one of the first opportunities to purchase this page.Second, the interesting thing about this page is that GCD has credited Byrne with the inks on this page, not Dave Hunt. If you look at Tigra and Kraven with their facial features, then it looks like Byrne did his own inking here. Unfortunately, some of the paste-ups are missing or are loose. Regardless, I could not turn down the opportunity to own a splash page from this awesome issue. I am NOT trying to put this book back together - it is impossible. However, for all those unknown owners out there who may decide to raise cash for another purchase, I ask that you keep me in mind for any of your pages from this issue. Social/Sharing |

That is a small revelation about Byrne inks. I thought Dave Hunt inked all those great Byrne MTU issues, but I have to agree that this does not look like Hunt. And even if you are not putting this book back together, you are getting a lot closer than I would have ever imagined. Big congratulations, Philip!

When I first looked I thought this was a modern Byrne piece because it looked like it was his own inking. Very nice page!

As I've told you already this is far and away the best page in the book. I'm so happy it's in your collection. BRILLIANT.

Yes, Byrne admitted a while back that he did indeed ink this particular page, but only this page. He did so to demonstrate how he wanted Tigra's hair inked to Dave Hunt, who inked the rest of the pages in this issue. So basically, you own the very first self-inked Byrne page ever done for Marvel!

Well now I want to fire up the ol' time machine and get JB to ink the whole issue! What an outstanding job he did on this slash.

Spectacular page. The light is disttributed just perfectly, even in B&W you can see it coming from the fire in the middle. Beautiful
