As I prepare to go to the SDCC for my 17th time, I reflect back on when I purchased my first page of comic art, an Uncanny X-Men 268 page from Jim Lee back in August 1990. What a long, interesting trip it has been.....

While I do not have 'grails', I have quests. I completed one quest back in 2007 by acquiring at least one interior page from each issue of Avengers 160-169 (Volume 1). I have a few more quests to complete before I go into semi-retirement as original art prices have elevated to levels that are hard to believe when compared to my first purchase back in 1990. It is fun to see Lee Benaka's posts from the old comic art catalogs and think what could have been purchased way back then. Back to the SDCC, I look forward to renewing old acquaintances and hopefully establishing some new ones. Who knows, this could be my last SDCC for a while....
