does your daughter really want to go to collage? then I guess this will have to do.LOL still any xmen character from John is bonus points for someone's collection.

A Byrne X-Men piece is a Byrne X-Men piece. What makes it special has nothing to do with whether it's published or not. What makes it special is what it means to you. This is a fine, vintage, example with Byrne's signature linework on full display. Congratulations Bill.

Gorgeous Byrne Phoenix sketch. The dark shadowing of Jean's eyes definitely evoke memories of the Dark Phoenix storyline for me ... and it doesn't get more prime and better than that! Congrats on adding this amazing piece of art to your collection Bill!

My bet is that it's pre-1980. Byrne refused to draw Phoenix once he left the series, the only drawing I know after that date is one Byrne did to Austin where he added a note commenting the fact that he only drew it because it was him. Congrats on owning it!

Taking a closer look, I even dare to say that it's early Byrne in X-Men. At the end of his run he drew her skinner, this drawing has too many curves, like Byrne's style in 1977-1978.

This is awesome, Bill! (Love the sheen of the reflective gloves, as he drew in the comics...) A really cool piece spotlighting a signature character (and, by extension, THE storyline) he may arguably be best known for. Very special piece - sincere congrats!
