DescriptionDaredevil & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Leonardo) Kevin Eastman Art from 1985 (TMNT original issues #3-5 were printed in 1985). This is about 18x26 inches in size. They drew covers in that size back then as interior pages were less then half that size.Kevin Eastman created this art for himself, thus the unusual size and detail. He’s unsure if he had it published somewhere in those early days. Many of the characters in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are parodies/homages of classic Daredevil characters. The Turtles’ wise mentor, the giant mutated rat Splinter, was inspired by Matt Murdock’s own blind ninja sensei Stick. Likewise, just as Daredevil regularly fights Marvel’s ninja clan the Hand, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were given their own ninja adversaries with “The Foot.” Both Daredevil & the TMNT got their powers from a radioactive canister accident. Great duo tone art coming right from the time the turtles were becoming the indie sensation! It shows the care Eastman was putting into the craft! The original owner is on CAF and may weigh in.

Duo tone/zipatone are such a lost artform and rarely used these days. Loved the use of it by Eastman & Laird.

Well, I'm not the ORIGINAL owner but I picked this up from Donnelly in 1986 and then took it down to SDCC and had Kevin personalize it. The image is cropped here, but on the bottom border it says "TO ERIC" somewhere down there.
Hey Anthony, if that's an eyesore for you, feel free to sell or trade this back to me. LOL
