DescriptionDr. Strange is one of those characters that is so hard to write right. He is a wonderful character, with a wonderful supporting cast (Wong, Clea, the Defenders etc.) and great villain's but he has never had a GREAT run- yet I love the character.Jim Starlin is my favorite artist and creator. He has penned my two favorite issue (Avengers Annual 7 and Giant Size Defenders 3- with Dr. Strange). So when this cover popped up on HA I knew I wanted it. I regretted not going after the Hulk Cover Starlin did a few years back so I wasn't going to let this slip between my fingers. It almost did, but it hit that last click and rang the bell and won the prize. Thank you to whomever decided not to bid further. Here is what HA has to say. Jim Starlin Doctor Strange #25 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1977). "Doctor Strange versus Doctor Strange?!" Clea watches as a battle rages between the Master of the Mystic Arts times two! We get a worm's-eye view of the magical mayhem from acclaimed artist Jim Starlin, rendered in ink over graphite on cover stock Bristol board with an image size of 9.75" x 15". Toned; logo, header, and text paste-ups; moderate residue and oil staining, with a frame shadow. In Very Good condition. Comes with a copy of the comic. Social/Sharing |

That's a beautiful cover, Kirk. Huge congrats. My favorite of the 4 Starlin covers featuring Doctor Strange. I really wish he stayed on the book, it might have evolved into his 3rd big cosmic series for Marvel.

Very nice pick-up. Starlin's art and writing definitely was the high standard for the 70's.
Congrats!

So much of the detail on this cover is lost on the printed comic. Out of sight congrats.
