Not a lot of new original art in this issue as it was mostly a reprint ...BUT ...Marvel was wise enough to add an intro and a prologue to the issue by none other than Jim Starlin. All know I love his Defenders work (well all of his work really but these Giant Size books in particular) and am really happy to add this page to my collection. Weirdly I am happy the last panel is a patch because it made the page affordable to me as I got out bid the last HA go around. Here is what HA has to say
Jim Starlin and Al Milgrom Giant-Size Defenders #1 Story Page 2 Original Art (Marvel, 1974). A funny panel page featuring Doctor Strange, Hulk, and Valkyrie -- and also featuring Namor in the banner! Ink over graphite on Bristol board adhered to a second Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The figures in the last panel are a stat, and the text in that panel are hand-lettered paste-ups. Toning, missing paste-up text corrections, discolored production tape, paste-up's, glue residue staining, stripped-in panels, editorial marks/notes, smudging/edge handling wear. In Very Good condition.

Fun page! Love that last panel with a smiling Hulk and a not so sure Strange :) Congrats!

A really funny, 'family' Defenders page. Starlin captures an older, more bestial looking Hulk. The headshots in the top panel also provide a unique take on a team page. Congrats.
