Superman receives a Kryptonian distress signal from survivors of a planetary destruction, so he heads off into space to find them. He ends up on a planetoid which is infested with the Alien creatures and in a segment of space without any suns. So he is forced to battle the Aliens with fading powers. He meets up with Kara, one of the survivors and they realize that Superman has had an alien embryo implanted in him,

In this, it was tease that Kara was Kryptonian and hence probably a Supergirl. However, it turned out that she was from a planet that was influenced by Kryptonia culture.
This was still during the time when DC decreed that Superman was the sole survivor of Krypton and despite it being an out of continuity book, these survivors had to be from another planet.
I still collected these Kara pages though.

You know, you just might be the only collector who would've bought these pages for the Kara appearances rather than for Nowlan's exquisite inks!
