I'm into well rendered faces, and this huge (albeit well done) face in the first panel was a definite attention grabber. And let's be honest, Mike Wieringo was one of the best talents to come along in quite some time, and it is an INCREDIBLE shame that his life was cut so tragically short while he was still such a young and still evolving artist. RIP, Mike. You are very much missed.

Having seen this one in person, I can tell you that the scan doesn't do this one justice... The face, the focus of his eyes and the shift of your eyes from his eyes to the tiny figures is pretty intense.
