Description

I have wanted this background painting since I first saw it in the early 1980s as part of Jerry Muller's travelings museum exhibition of animation art, The Moving Image. i knew Jerry, who promised me that he would sell this and his cel of the Cheshire Cat to me once the exhibit was finished, but instead he sold both, along with the entire exhibit, to Mike Glad. A friend of mine was able to get the Cheshire Cat from Glad for me about a decade ago for me, and now I was finally able to get the background painting.

In this scene Hortense the Ostrich is delivered by train to the station, where she encounters Donald Duck in one of his earliest solo cartoons.

So much brighter than copies of the cartoon can show!  If they ever do  remaster, they can reference how bright this looks!
