It’s hard to even say how much I love this commission. Rich Henneman seriously hit this so far out of the park it’s sitting on the Rainbow Bridge. I wanted a Calvin & Hobbes piece and I knew Rich had an affinity for the characters already. I was trying to figure out what kind of thing I might want and decided a riff on Spaceman Spiff Would be fun. I had recently been looking at the Silver Surfer 4 cover and when I mentioned to Rich I thought it would be an interesting combo he immediately said sure, I can work with that. Indeed he could!

HA! Fantastic commission, which really nails the spirit of the strip and the characters! I love the details (especially the shadows and the little spaceship destroyed in the background) and Hobbes looks just great!

This is hands down the best Calvin & Hobbes mashup cover I have seen yet. A great idea & spot on execution yielded a super fun looking piece. Congrats.
