Description

Sheldon "Shelly" Moldoff is best known for his decades of ghosting Bob Kane in the 40s-50s. Also he co-created several Bat-characters including Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Matt Hagen (Clayface), Bat-Mite, Batgirl and Ace the Bat Hound. But he's most recognized by me for his several Golden Age Catwoman tales.

I've wanted a piece by Shelly for YEARS, and thought my opportunity had run out, seeing that he's over 90 and was retired for years. Then out of the blue, I find out that he's now taking commissions!

This piece is not 100% original, but is exactly the drawing I asked for! Shelly added nice water colors, with ink touchups, to a very large copy of Catwoman. Wonderful, and I'm so pleased to get the art from the man himself!

3/4/2012 - rest in peace Shelly, your talents will be missed! I feel so fortunate to have corresponded with you.
