Another favorite. People today generally don't realize the strip existed or that Peanuts (and other) strips are heavily influenced by it. Percy Crosby's story is a sad one and I think I'll never eat Skippy Peanut butter again. The book I linked to is out of print and hard to find, but it's worth the read.

That, and Crosby's beautiful penwork prompted me to get this one from Illustration House.
