Another favorite. People today generally don't realize the strip existed or that Peanuts (and other) strips are heavily influenced by it. Percy Crosby's story is a sad one and I think I'll never eat Skippy Peanut butter again. The book I linked to is out of print and hard to find, but it's worth the read.

Alex - I read the book Skippy and Percy Crosby by Jerry Robinson years ago, and it had the same effect on me. That, and Crosby's beautiful penwork prompted me to get this one from Illustration House.
