I love this homage! I've done the same thing, I have it in storage somewhere as well - but a different skull. Thankfully - yours turned out better. I should ask Phil - I think its in the angle of the brush to define the paint / grain flow in a specific manner... like calligraphy. Regardless, thanks for sharing.
