DescriptionFrank Miller will always be my favorite single comic creator ever, and Klaus Janson my favorite inker/artist. The two of them made magic together and back when I was in college, I was never more excited to go to my local comic book store than I was on the day when I knew the next issue of DD was out. This cover, part of the 'Gang War' storyline was where the Miller DD run started to really hit it's stride and Kingpin became more than just the goofy crime boss he'd always been, but someone darker and more powerful and who a few years later in the Born Again story would push DD to the brink.Janson's bold inks and the rich, deep blacks make this a stunning cover to see in person. Time to buy another frame... Social/Sharing |

Yes, a new frame is definitely needed. And a museum room where to hang it! Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Bold blacks in background. Janson's masterful inks and DD's fighting against the Kingpin. Just 3 reasons why I think this is a great cover. Congrats Scott!!!!

I may be in the minority here but this is my absolute favorite period for Miller as a penciller. Striking to see posts like this, you're a lucky man!

When I look at this cover, I realize that I use the term 'this one is as good as it gets' way too often in leaving comments. This one actually is 'as good as it gets'. Jaw-droppingly beautiful, Mr. Williams. Thank you for sharing it.

I can't believe I never commented on this before. Love the action and love the blackness in the background.
