DescriptionRiot in Cellblock 12 still burns in my memory as a highlight of Gerber's Defenders run. The scene where Val is molested by the prison's warden left a big impression on 10-year old me.I am so pleased to have won this splash. Not only because it is part of a seminal run, but also in its own artistic right. Buscema shows again that he can be original and creative in layout, and Janson's inks are just perfect for the mood of the scene. And Gerber's words are the perfect evocative, sophisticated complement to the picture. Social/Sharing |

Bellissima pagina! ! Ancora una volta Sal Buscema dimostra di essere un grande artista e con l 'inchiostratore giusto perfino superlativo. Sono felice per te!

Love, love, love, the Buscema/Janson combo on this title (issue #19 with the Wrecking Crew being a particular favorite). I can see now why I don't have any Defenders art. You always get to it before I do. Haha! Anyway, congratulations on this fantastic splash. So happy you got something from one of your favorite stories!

Excellent splash--great image, awesome title, love all those faces in the smoke above Doc; and gorgeous Janson inks. This one has it all!

This is a splash! Modern artists should look and learn from those masters of the comics!

I love Janson’s Inks during this period. It didn’t matter who the penciller was. The art looks great.

I really enjoyed Janson's inks over Sal Buscema on Defenders and this is a stellar example! Congratulations!!!
