Description

The Stuff of Legend, written by Mike Raicht and Brian Smith and illustrated by Charles Paul Wilson III, tells the tale of a boy kidnapped by the Bogeyman. The boy's loyal toys rise up and follow the boy's captor into the Dark Realm where they and other lost/abandoned toys become "real."

It's a thrilling tale of adventure, courage, betrayal, and love. I think it's a terrific read and worthy of much more attention than it gets. Charles' art is outstanding - beautiful and well-paced.

In this scene, the boy and his captor are set to view a battle between the Bogeyman's hoards and the boy's few friends and allies when the Bogeyman reveals a key motivation for his interest in the boy. I'm thrilled to get this page though other ones from this issue are flashier, this is a big story point.
