I really enjoy Farel Dalrymple's books, e.g., It will all hurt, Pop Gun War: Gift, The Wrenchies. I can't tell you what it is that grabs me - the stories and characters are odd, the art is definitely his style and not that of mainline comics. Still, they fascinate me. The man has skills.

This page is from his new book, Sept 'n' Ember - which complements his upcoming book Robot Tod.

In this scene, Sept is running from a Cyclops as one does; those guys will eat you. Ask Odysseus.

I think it's a pretty good sample of Farel's work on his own books.

Farel had this to say about the pages he sold as part of the Sept 'n' Ember Crowdfundr:

This is the original art for the page with Sept and Ember being chased by a cyclops and about to fall into the underground city.

The back of the page has more misspelled (loneliness) quote from Moondog.(note: the quote was used on page 3 of Sept 'n' Ember)

The art on the front is done in ink and red watercolor, and a little bit of opaque white paint.

All the original art for SEPT 'n' EMBER was done in a 5" x 8.25" Moleskine sketchbook which was dissected and scanned by the artist. The pages are a little out of order and most have various art on the back, and letters, and scribbling in places.

This reward also includes a signed copy of the SEPT 'n' EMBER book
