Description

In 1975 Universal Studios art department created three concept art pieces of Raquel Welch as Sheena, Queen of the Jungle. She wanted to play Sheena but copyright delays forced Raquel to leave the project. She would have made a great Sheena. This Sheena concept poster was painted by Joe Smith from Universal Studios art department. Joe Smith was a famed poster artist whose works include Ben-Hur and Gorgo. Of the three concepts, this is my favorite one.

A biography of poster artist Joe Smith is planned for 2016 and will include this Sheena art.

The artist is famed painter Joseph Smith who also painted the Ben-Hur movie poster. A biography is planned and will include this painting.

The three Joe Smith Universal Studios Sheena concept art for the 1975 Raquel Welch Sheena, Queen of the Jungle movie that was never made has been featured in the biography book of Joe Smith art.
