Description

This is the original "camera ready" cover for Marvel's Greatest Comics #57, by Jack Kirby and inked by Joe Sinnott. It reprints Fantastic Four #75, which features both The Silver Surfer and Galactus. The actual artwork is a photostat because being a reprint book, the original art was not available at the time. A reverse photostat would be made from a negative stored in the Marvel archives. It would then be pasted up, alongside its new logo and text on what is called a "mechanical". Upon inspection, you will notice that the art extensions and touch-ups on this mechanical are original.

I Know, I Know, it's not TRULY Jack, but this is the closest I'll ever come to Kirby FF Cover.

Having worked in the printing industry as a 4 color proof maker and color key maker I love stuff like this. It's Jack with 2 degrees of separation. Nice piece.
