DescriptionA great looking splash from what is my favorite creation by Kubert. This comes from the John Biernat collection and I enjoyed looking at this on John's walls for years and am proud to have become the caretaker of this piece.Social/Sharing |

Awesome DC Large art Kubert masterwork! The hero, the villian, the babe are all perfectly drawn for their purpose! The underwater creatures are great with the dead on fish face and the profile of the seahorse!

A wonderful splash page from only the 17th issue of Brave and the Bold! First you get the classic Viking Prince team-up with Sgt Rock cover and now this. Truly and embarrassment of riches and both coming from the estate of a man who was very important to the comic book hobby makes owningthem all the more special.

Oh, wow... there's something graceful and elegiac about this image, even though it's the moment of attack. Like the influence of Raymond or J. Allen St. John underlying Kubert's modern, Caniff-based rendering. "Museum-piece" is an overused compliment but I think it applies here.

Beautiful! Such a stately and composed couple in the most outlandish of circumstances

I personally prefer his later artistic period but there is no denying that he was an artistic genius already at this time. The staging of this splash is simply amazing.

Beautiful and much more fully rendered than his latter work. The perspective is excellent! The master is masterful even in 1958!

There's an often misquoted line from a George Bernard Shaw play, "Those who can DO. And those who can't, teach." Obviously Mr. Shaw didn't have Joe Kubert in mind when he wrote that. And this incredible splash also shows that some teachers obviously can DO.

Congratulations Jeff! Another home run...I eagerly await the next posting, as these are all top tier examples! What an amazing splash from my favorite Kubert era of art.
