So I'm looking thru Spencer Beck's boxes of pages that he had at the NYComicon in Feb 2007, and flipping thru the massive section for Maguire. I come across this page, which has some nice detail, tight shots of Maguire faces, what more could you want? I buy it, turn away, walk 10 feet, and lo and behold, there's Kevin Maguire. Unexpectedly, since he wasn't listed on the website as being there. An oversight on the con's part, as he apparently was scheduled to be there, but they never put his name on the site, which he wasn't too happy about. He still had over 2 dozen names on his sketch list though. I also bought the TwoMorrows Modern Masters book on him, so I at least had a couple things for him to sign. Also, he does all his pages pencil only now, starting with Defenders, and just adjusts the contrast and does minor clean-up on the computer. His pages will now no longer be inked by hand. And now, after meeting writer J. M. DeMatteis in Anaheim in April 2010, the page has his signature as well.

No one conveys as much with cartooned facial expressions than Kevin Maguire. Although not a bombastic page, I really do like this one- especially panel one!
