Description

In 1966-67 Al drew Flash Gordon series for King features. In 1970, Union Carbide contracted Al Williamson to create a series of ads for national magazines like Life and Fortune, featuring Dale, Dr Zarkov and Ming. The results were nothing short of amazing. Here is the opening introductory ad for the series starring Flash Gordon and Dale Arden. Art is 14x19.
I have been wanting to get an example from his run on Flash Gordon for King Features. When I saw this in person at the HA auction preview, I knew I had to have it. One of the best examples of Al's Flash Gordon.

Congratulations on a marvelous acquisition - 4 years after the King FLASH GORDONs but a marvelous example of Al`s work on the character. This is really marvelous!

One, I just have to say: There's a great future in plastics. Think about it. Will you? Two, I want to add that it is a wonderful image of Flash & Dale by, to my mind, the best Flash Gordon artist of them all.

For decades I have wanted a nice representative page by the brilliant Al Williamson.

Now I realize what I've really been yearning for is injection-molded BMRS-5303 bakelite phenolic resin from Union Carbide for all my plastics needs!
