Description

I feel really quite lucky to have picked up another one of these wonderful Sinbad ink wash comic strips that appeared in Life magazine. This piece appeared in the June 1933 issue of the magazine and features Sinbad himself in every panel, as Cap Stubbs tries to turn our canine hero into a circus side-show act. The drawing is just delicious, with warm, rich ink tones throughout.

As much as I have always enjoyed Edwina's newspaper comic strip artwork, these pieces that she did for the old Life magazine are simply the greatest.

Just when ya think ya know all the old-time greats, something like this shows up. Thanks for contributing to my continuing art history education, Rob! Delightful is just one term of many superlatives to describe this one. Congrats!
