DescriptionHere's a quintessential Batman page by the artist that brought this iconic character back from being a 1960s silly pop hero to the gritty Dark Knight he was meant to be. You can't beat Giordano's elegant inks on Adams 1970s pencils. Also noteworthy is the fact that this is the first silver age appearance of Two Face in this series since 1954. The fourth panel shines so much...What a wonderful panel page!!Social/Sharing |

You couldn't ask for more from an Adams Batman page from the period...wow! Except maybe for an editor or proofreader or production person who didn't have the urge to wield that bastard blue pencil and deface the page, that is. Cretinous!

Cretinous!Mark, Thanks for the comment... the blue pencil doesn't bother me in the least, as this is production art.

An all around excellent page with some truly exceptional panels. I agree that 4th panel is a killer, but I'm sort of partial to panel 3 myself. In any case, congratulations on this gem of a page.

O'Neil, Adams & Giordano's "Darknight Detective" (one word; one "k") is probably my first "true love" in comics. Though Adams gets the lion's share of the credit (as well he should), this page is a marvelous example of how they combined their talents to tell great Batman stories.

It's a great page! I had a strong urge to push higher on this one at the Heritage auction. At least I can visit it here.

I think all of the panels shine! Wow, a page from this issue with both batman and Two-Face is priceless.

Rob, an incredible Adams/Giordano Bronze Age masterpiece! I started reading comics in 1972 so my definitive Batman artist was/is Jim Aparo; but nobody can diminish the fact that Adams almost single handedly transformed comics into the acceptable medium they are today - his realistic rendition of the Dark Knight and GL/GA is unparalleled!
