Description

There are stories that circulate about the Irascible Alex Toth, about the intransigent Alex Toth, about an Alex Toth who would insist on having things his way. When our paths did cross at a convention hosted by a local comic book store, I witnessed none of this. What I did witness, and what most will agree on when the conversation turns to Alex Toth, is that the man was incredibly talented. Proof of this was evident in the stack of “Bravo For Adventure” originals he had with him (Which he would not part with) and the small assortment of DC pages he was willing to sell. I selected one of these and requested a Supergirl sketch; and received this Super Girl sketch in its stead. On reflection, I fared rather well!

The Black Canary by Alex Toth is always special. I've never seen one in pencil. She looks great !!

I think this was a superior choice by Toth. It is more in line with the adventurous ladies he's best known for rather than the fantastical.
