Description

Beautifully drawn by Mike Zeck in 1977 for the cover to Erbania #40 featuring the Lord of the Jungle facing off against the King of the Jungle. In the same year Zeck started working for Marvel on Shang-Chi Master of Kung Fu. Erbania was the long-running popular Edgar Rice Boroughs fanzine. This piece comes from the estate of D. Peter Ogden, the editor and founder of Erbania, who published the fanzine from 1956 to 2010.

Great pickup Steve! I don't think I've ever seen Zeck draw Tarzan. It looks awesome!

Wow, what an unusual example of Zeck's work. It makes you wonder what might have been if Zeck had been assigned to draw Tarzan or Conan in the late 1970s instead of MOKF. Great pick-up Steve!

Chuck Norris wouldn't need a knife to take down that lion.. the lion would smell Chuck Norris and bow down to the real king of the jungle.
