Description

This beautiful very early painting was used for the Sandman The Wake poster art, the title page in Sandman The Wake Hardcover and as a post card.
Beautifully painted by Michael Zulli
I was told that this was his first Sandman painting

It's painted in acrylics on thick masonite
It's signed, titled and dated '95 on the back
The piece measures 67.8 x 60.8 cm or 26,5 x 24 inches

Zulli's work on Sandman was revelationary at the time. It was then that his name started jumping out at me, and I realized I had seen his work over the years and never given it the attention it deserved. I probably still have the poster of this piece rolled up in some closet or other as well.
