Description

"Heart of the Dragon" -- July 1974 (2nd appearance of Danny Rand/Iron Fist and Larry Hama's first work at Marvel Comics, though Hama has stated that he'd done an eight page horror story which disappeared under mysterious circumstances).

Marvel Premiere #16 features the origin of Danny Rand becoming Iron Fist. This two-page spread shows Danny having just beaten Shou-Lao, The Undying. Upon Shou-Lao's defeat, the power of the Iron Fist gets passed on to him as can be seen in first panel, where the mark of the dragon appears on his chest. Art features seven panels, showing Danny entering cavern and approaching a glowing brazier which contains the Heart of the Dragon. Danny then plunges his hands into the molten mass time and time again, fully claiming its power as evidenced by his glowing hands in last panel...and IRON FIST is born!

Where did you did up this masterpiece? Not only historic for the reasons you mention, but also one of the rare double-pagers drawn on one board!
