DescriptionHere's a drawing by Virgil Finlay from 1935; I believe this was one of the five samples he sent in to Weird Tales to try to convince editor Farnsworth Wright to use him as an illustrator. It worked and the rest is history.Social/Sharing |

First off this is a superb illustration. Now I got to say it - the guy on the left with the mustache - practically a spitting image of John Cleese from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Lol, the first thing I thought in my head before I read the comments was Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Agreed though really cool piece.

It worked. Of course it worked. Its Virgil Finlay. One of the truly great artists to work in pulps.
