DescriptionEd Valigursky is primarily known for his science fiction book and magazine covers, but he also did some interior pulp work early in his career. Here's one of his from the January 1952 issue of Planet Stories, illustrating "The Android Kill" by John Jakes (prior to his Brak the Barbarian tales, and long before the historical novels that made him a household name).I picked this one up several years ago at Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention, later traded it to a friend of mine, and got it back from my friend in another trade in 2019. The sense of mystery and fear is masterfully accomplished. Even with the aliens in full view, you do not know what their motives are and why the humans are working with them.
