Description

Tony was gracious enough to attend the inaugural Amazing Oklahoma Comic Con this past weekend and proved to be one of the real highlights from the show. He's a super-gracious ambassador, and it was a real pleasure to pick his brain a bit. I can't recommend him highly enough for either commissions or time well-spent discussing comics, etc.

Anyway, I commissioned him to do a take on ol' hornhead, and after some initial discussion about which costume to go with (he was leaning towards the original yellow and black version), I asked him if he'd be willing to reimagine DD's togs as if he operated in the world of the JSA: Liberty Files (i.e. WW2-era), in which Tony's anachronistic designs of DC's heavy hitters were so stunningly portrayed. His eyes lit up at that prospect and seemed to jump at the idea of stretching his artistic legs a bit. The resultant commission could not have turned out better. Thanks so very much, Tony! You totally nailed it! I'd love to see a yarn with DD in this era.
