DescriptionHad a chance to grab a complete issue of LOEG Vol.1...bypassed it for a single WATCHMEN page. Then had a chance to grab a complete issue of Vol.2...but the one I wanted wasn't available. For the same reason that I wanted it.That reason? My favorite character, Mr. Hyde. So very glad to grab this pinup years later. Thank you, Kevin O'Neill. RIP. Social/Sharing |

Fabulous, and memorable, image! Wonderfully composed page, and I love the hands, smoke, "monkey suit", period lamp, and portraits looking on from the wings

This is sensational, Felix - what a treasure. Rich hatching (love the portraits in back, no matter how commanding Hyde is in front of them), solid blacks, and especially the layout... We all can see the question mark in the extinguished wick's smoke trail, but it took me a moment to notice that Hyde himself was a question mark, with the back wall and Hyde's torso (down Hyde's left arm) as the "swoop", and his leg section as the "dot" (separated so nicely by that beautiful lamp in the foreground). A fantastic tribute to Kevin in the most fitting way possible; showcasing his beautiful art and spotlighting one of his most striking characters in his singular, unique art style. Mega congrats, Felix, and thanks for sharing with us.

I've always loved this piece. I recall being on vacation in Maine one summer when this piece was at Heritage and I was frantically trying to bid on it, but had lousy internet and couldn't get through. Congratulatons! It sure is a great one! Mr. Hyde was always one of my favorite characters.
