DescriptionSome folks have criticized Jack Kirby for his scripting of 1970s comics, but I think Kirby wrote villains really well. The Arnim Zola and Red Skull dialogue on this page is sharp, from Zola's wonderment at his technological achievements to the Skull grousing about Zola asking for more money and then expressing amazement that Zola has actually captured Captain America. This page is being framed with its predecessor; I can't wait to see them on my wall!Social/Sharing |

And that is the violent, fascistic beginnings of WiFi and the internet. And who knew it involved so much Kirby Krackle? This is an amazing Kirby page, and I'm 100% with you on his quality villain writing. Panel 2 and 4 just make me happy looking at that Kirby magic. What a sequential score! You have to be one of the very best at getting that done. Big congrats!

I just picked up a page in this sequence. (My first!) I really love Kirby's art from this period, and no one can beat his take on Red Skull.

Terrific Kirby Captain America page! Love all the Kirby-esque details, from the Kirby Krackle in the first panel to the maniacal look on the Red Skull's face. And Mike Royer's inks bring out the best in Kirby, as always.
