DescriptionA typical Steranko splash. The oversized title is used to create the foundations of a surreal "mutant city", providing the stage for drama involving Magneto, the X-Men and the "devil's daughter".Social/Sharing |

Seeing this amazing artwork makes me wish we'd gotten a few more decades of comics out of Jaunty Jim... selfish, I know!

Wonderful design from the big guy. He really was thinking outside the box from the get go.

Ti ho appena scoperto e ti odio già un pò! Dovrebbero vietare per legge due tavole così nella stessa collezione! (riferimento a questa e Thor di Kirby)!! Complimenti! (ma in realtà rosico da impazzire!!)

Man, I love Steranko from this period. A true graphic artist. This should be hanging in a gallery.

Epic! Steranko was a master. I just wish he could had drawn Capt.A & the X-Men much longer! What a grail! Holy Moley!

So few pages of Steranko's vintage Marvel artwork are available these days. While Steranko voiced to me his displeasure with Tartaglione's inks during an SDCC in the 1990s, the commercial style art with design and layout brought a new dimension into comics storytelling, regardless of the inker.

Steranko is hands down, the greatest designer and layout artist in comics. So stylistic and cinematic in his approach ..... a total game changer that continues to influence artists today. A true centerpiece in your wonderful collection. Cheers! N.

Steranko knew his comic book history, so I am sure this was his nod to Will Eisner. One master's homage to another master. What a treasure. Congrats.

This is the kind of piece your graphic design instructor builds a little pedestal for in the middle of the classroom and lights candles around it.
Awesome!
