DescriptionThanks to Steve Morger for introducing me to Sanjulian's work and setting up this commission. After seeing all the great paintings Sanjulian had done recently, I decided to get one for myself. I was unsure of the subject until I saw Ted Lanting's awesome Shadow and Rich DeDominicis' great Doc Savage. I knew then that Sanjulian could nail pulp-type characters. Indiana Jones has always been a favorite and I love what Sanjulian has done here. An image worthy of a movie poster, book cover, dvd cover...as good as anything I've seen from Lucasfilm. I don't know anything about this Sanjulian fella, but he sure does paint purtty pictures! Also, great choice for a subject!

The composition channels Struzan, but the style is 100% Sanjulian. Great choice! I love it.

SanJulien has been the master for decades. His oill talent complements his mentor Goya. I have seen his mastery in person, and lucky to own some and enjoy my brothers works. I like to wait a while before commenting on a piece this good...just to give myself a challenge in finding an adjective that has not been used yet to describe how great this piece is.....the other people leaving comments made it hard on me....but I have a few left that perfectly describe this piece.... resplendent....splendiferous...august...and one sports cliche to boot...."this piece runs away from the field and doesn't look back."

I love Richard Amsel's iconic work on the Raiders movie posters and I have to say San Julian throws it down with the best of them. This is just fantastic and shows how versatile San Julian is. Wow !!!! Cheers! N.

The colours in this piece are sensational! The dynamic rendition of Indy and his whip doesn't get any better!!!!
