DescriptionThis is one of those curiosities you find on eBay... the unpublished cover for Superman #324 by Curt Swan. The published cover from the June 1978 comic was by Rich Buckler and Dick Giordano. Why Julie Schwartz chose Buckler over Swan is BEYOND me. The cover was a Titano cover for the story, "Beware the Eyes That Paralyze!" which was written by Marty Pasko with art by Curt Swan and Frank Chiaramonte.Social/Sharing |

Swan's pencils are always very interesting to see unaccompanied by an inker. Great pick up!

They definitely should have used this cover on the published comic.

I'm with you guys! Swan on Superman is like Apple pie & the U.S.A! Great find! Just wish DC had used this piece! As Homer Simpson would have said. DOH!

Damn -- I didn't know Julie Schwartz did drugs! Buckler over Curt Swan??! Maybe on the Bizarro World. Gorgeous cover. Should have been used by DC. And if it had been published, it should have been inked by a stellar DC embellisher, and not by some of those in the mediocre and hack classifications who sometimes butchered Swan's stupendous pencils. Given DC's sometimes strange choices, maybe it is best that this wonderful piece survived in its original pencil format.
