DescriptionAfter making a first "Carte Blanche" for Spirou in 1973, Didier Conrad illustrated the fantastic series 'Jason' with scripts by Jean-Claude Smit le Bénédicte (Mythic) from 1978. He began a longime collaboration with Yann, starting with several illustrations for Spirou, collected in the small book '8 Mois dans l'Enfer des Hauts de Pages', and the poetic 'Bébert le Cancrelat'. In 1980, they created their first long series, 'Les Innomables' in Spirou. With this controversial comic, Conrad and Yann created a small "revolution" within Spirou, because the comic didn't fit in with the "cheerful atmosphere" of the magazine. Because of sexual and aggressive elements, the comic was expelled from the magazine in 1983.The duo then went from Dupuis to Glénat, where they began the 'Bob Marone' series in Circus. This humorous comic was a parody on the famous 'Bob Morane' character of Henri Vernes. Afterwards, Conrad and Yann split up after a disagreement. Conrad then teamed up with Lucie Commenge, and created 'L'Avatar'. This comic was a prelude to 'Le Piège Malais', that appeared in the Aire Libre collection of the publishing house Dupuis. He then returned to Spirou, where he began the children's series 'Donito' in 1991. In 1994, he took on his collaboration with Yann again, and they revived the 'Innomables' again, this time at Dargaud. They took on the collective pseudonym Pearce, Yann and Conrad illustrated the 'Lucky Luke' spin-off 'Kid Lucky', scripted by Jean Léturgie. After a brief stint in the animation field, Conrad and Yann, again under the collective name Pearce, began the comical western series 'Cotton Kid' with writer Jean Léturgie.
