Description

In Japanese folklore, hengeyokai were magical animals that could assume human forms. This volume situates the tribes of yokai within the wider "World of Darkness" setting, explains the politics of the Beast Courts and provides plenty of "flavor" backstory. This illustration came from the chapter on kitsune, were-foxes, the most magical of the yokai. If you've read "Usagi Yojimbo", you'll remember that fox thief with whom he frequently shares adventures is called Kitsune. (Bought from Michael Gaydos, 2009/05)
