DescriptionIt is my understanding that very little vintage L.B. Cole artwork survived a studio flood many years ago. Any art by Cole is pretty rare. When I first started collecting Golden Age comics, I think Schomburg and Cole were the first 2 artists I could instantly recognize. No one does a better rocket ship that L.B. Cole and I loved these Jungle covers he did. This piece was done much later, in the early 70's as a prelim/work up to a full cover recreation. I have seen about a dozen ol those recreations around. I rather like this prelim and it goes well with my other L.B. Cole piece which is a vintage piece (not in CAF, you'll have to go to my website to see it if you want www.art4comics.com).Social/Sharing |
