I agree Kevin. I love Russell on Kane. Almost as much as I loved Nowlan on Kane. Distant Fires anyone? That stuff was killer!

Darn! Scott beat me to the Distant Fires reference! Oh well, at least I have a great splash from that book by you and Gil. It's really amazing how Gil managed to have his work inked by some of the best artists in the business. Russell, Nowlan, and Neal Adams, just to name a few. This is a great page from a great story!

Thanks, Scott! And thanks, Eric, for including me in that list. My three favorite Kane inkers were Gil himself, Russell and Ralph Reese. But there are also some beautiful stories inked by Wrightson, Wood, Palmer, Adkins, Severin and Janson out there.

I really loved their Jungle Book adaptation and when I met Mr. Kane shortly after it came out, he too seemed quite pleased with it. After thinking about it, I'd probably put Russell in my top three as well, and I too liked Kane inking himself, but In my uninformed opinion, Wally Wood was the best inker on Kane (well, my favorite anyway). Mind you, I have fond memories of all the inkers mentioned here (plus I'd throw in Murphy Anderson for good measure).
