DescriptionThis is the cover to the first issue of X-men I ever read. It was the perfect starting point as a grieving Cyclops retells the entire X-men history and Kitty Pryde arrived on the last page. The figures are all art while the titles and backround covers are all on an overlay.Social/Sharing |

Congrats on a classic. This entire run was one of the all time greatest storytelling in comics and easily one of the most iconic covers of all time.

Whoever did your overlay did a REALLY nice job-- this cover's one for framing now!

Makes me want to break out my Uncanny collection and start reading from issue 94 up! The best years of comics, in my opinion, hands down.

Dave, I started reading Uncanny with #127 but have to agree that #138 is an excellent beginning point!

3000 bucks bought a lot of toys back then. I used to go through the toy r us ad insert on Sundays adding up how I'd spend that shopping spree I never won. Oh, and the cover is great too. Byrne can draw a story cover like nobody's business.

From the very height of the X-men series, one of the very best of the Byrne/Austin X-men covers. Indeed, in my estimation, one of the best covers by anyone, ever. Congratulations!

Hands down this X run was John Byrne's finest hour. I would love to add one of these beauties to my inferior collection. Kudos, you have one of the finest galleries in CAF!

This is also the first X-Men I ever bought too. I love it. Who owns #137??? This one, Star Wars #1 and Daredevil #181 are the ones I want to see the most in-person ... and all the Dave Stevens goodness I know you are hiding away!!! :))

I have always loved Byrne's retelling of the X-Men's history in this issue, such a monumental issue that saw Mr. X-Man leave the team! Thanks for sharing!
