This was also the cover of the first trade paperback collection.Mark Waid presented a credible conflict between Braniac 5 and Cosmic Boy in this section of the run.

This is a great looking prelim that I almost thought was a published cover from the thumbnail, only looking at the full size did I notice the prelim level finishes but for a prelim it really captures the main portion of the final cover design well.
