Description(MAY 1951) (Magazine Enterprises) Not only is this the Final "The Ghost Rider" cover by Frank Frazetta, but it is also the sole "The Ghost Rider" cover that most closely resembles the style of meticulously finished comic book cover work that Frazetta illustrated on the Buck Rogers covers for the "Famous Funnies" title. Interestingly enough, "The Ghost Rider #5" features the best “Ghost Rider” image to permit the reader to imagine “What If?” Frank Frazetta had ever actually rendered “The Batman”; because if the reader simply visualizes “The Ghost Rider” without his cowboy hat on and instead showing large pointed bat ears extending from his cowl, then you have Frazetta’s creative, illustrative rendition of The Batman. Last but certainly not least, "The Ghost Rider #5" is Frazetta's "VERY 1ST & ONLY GHOST RIDER" comic book cover to feature "A FAMOUS & FANTASTICALLY FINE FRAZETTA FEMALE" who bares an ironically strong resemblance to a very young "uncredited" Marilyn Monroe who played "Clara" in the musical comedy Western movie: "A Ticket to Tomahawk" (1950) (IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043046/). I have to admit I love these early Frazetta Western covers probably for all the wrong reasons. Yes they are stunning to behold but even more interesting is the slightly wrong movement and proportions, almost as if two different artists were battling over pencil and inking styles. Such rawness and power delivered in near perfect finishing, probably why I think they teach us so much more about his development as an artist than the Famous Funny covers.

Keif, an astounding Frazetta masterpiece! The best Frazetta B and W piece he ever drew. Man, it's incredulous it only garnered six comments in 12 years when you see all the drek posted daily and they get 20-30 comments. Congrats on owning this breathtaking cover!
