DescriptionHere is a fun page I picked up on a recent trip to Buenos Aires. Batman art from the 90's with the very distinctive stylings of Alcatena. I don't think Enrique did a lot of art for the North American market but is well known in South America and Europe and I've been a fan of his style and skill for many years.Social/Sharing |

Great page! Alcatena was a perfect choice for gritty Batman stories. And they didn't need to be published in color. Looks amazing in B&W!

Everything from issues 89-90 is tops! Credit Archie Goodwin for bringing Enrique Alcatena's talent to North America! He knows how to set the mood for Batman by bringing a hard boiled pulp detective look!

amazing page, love the inking and the gritty look - it's like he brought the golden age up to the 90s era with the flashlight/spotlight panel. it makes me want to track down the back issues and check them out

It's a great-looking Batman page. Also, I know it's just a running gag on CAF videos, but the bricks do look awesome.

Stunning art from Legends of the Dark Knight by Enrique Alcatena. A gorgeous page of Batman searching for a lost woman down in the sewers of Gotham. I love all the detail Enrique has put into this page, the rounded ceilings, the extensive brickwork, the light from his flashlight reflecting off the sewer water and illuminating the cavern-like tunnels as well as projecting Batman's shadow against the brick walls. In the second panel, the Batman's flashlight picks out his prey--an unconcscious woman in the arms of someone or something? Batman strikes with a flash grenade that momentarily blinds the villain, who we see silhouetted against the flare. Brilliant work by Argentina's best. Fanastic pick-up, congrats!

This is amazing Alcatena is such a master. His art is so much more impressive in black and white. Great pick up!
